Not only did they win the Most Innovative Home Ownership Solution they also secured the Overall Winner Award! Pictured above is Julie Leyton, Advance Housing's Chief Executive, Chair Melba Wilson, Director of Housing Ian Gilders and former Chief Executive Stuart Rigg who was instrumental in getting HOLD (Home Ownership for people with Long-term Disabilities) off the ground in 1997.
The Award judges noted that "HOLD is a scheme that the judges would like to see rolled out across every town and city in the UK" and that it "goes way past innovative and straight to inspirational", sentiments that we here at MySafeHome heartily echo.
As if that wasn't enough one of our incredibly supportive mortgage providers, Newbury Building Society, were highly commended for their entry in the Best Financial Partner category too!
Right2Home would like you to write to your MP to call for more to be done to move people with Learning Disabilities and Autism out of mental health hospitals and back into their community.
Remember that Learning Disability England has a range of FREE resources online to help keep you safe, busy and informed during 'lockdown'.
#Right2Home is a new campaign that coincides with the first anniversary of BBC's Panorama programme which uncovered the horrific abuse taking place at Whorlton Hall.
