Working closely together with Shropshire Council and Wrekin Housing Trust we were recently privileged to have been able to help a young lady called Emma secure a home of her own, not only changing her life but also giving her parents peace of mind by knowing that she has somewhere safe and secure to live for as long as she wants. This is just the first of a significant number of HOLD (Home Ownership for people with Long-term Disabilities) purchases, partially funded by the Department of Health, that we are supporting in Shropshire too! This month we were delighted to have been invited to participate in a podcast hosted by Lisa Brown from Supported Living Property.
We don’t believe that the recently proposed benefit changes will have a significant impact on any of our home owners, as they all have lifelong disabilities and have already been assessed as being unable to viably work in paid employment.
We were delighted to have recently been invited to co-host a webinar with The NSG about home ownership for people with disabilities and we were privileged to have been joined by the parents of two of our happy home owners too.
