Home Ownership: Who Benefits?

Publish date: 18th October 2023

This means that if you’re able to work part-time in paid employment (or think you may be able to in the future)* but your disability prevents you from working full-time we may now be able to help you to buy a home of your own using HOLD (Home Ownership for people with Long-term Disabilities)!

This rule change is one of the biggest developments for HOLD mortgages since we helped to launch the model back in 1997. Not only will it give even more people with disabilities the chance to buy a home of their own but also the opportunity to work and earn an income (if they’re able to do so), in turn helping them to develop new skills, socialise more and show the world what they can really do.

Contact us today to find out how HOLD could work for you.

If you’re able to work more than 24 hours per week then you may be better off approaching a high street lender direct and applying for a ‘traditional’ mortgage, but if you’re unsure about what might be best for you though please just get in touch with us.
